As the founder of ARK the Academy, Nishan leads his team in providing an ultimate learning experience to students. In addition to his role as a lecturer, he serves as a mentor and career coach, empowering students to reach their full potential. With his wealth of knowledge and passion for education, Nishan Perera continues to make a significant impact in the lives of those he guides and inspires.

Nishan Perera is a highly experienced professional with over 25 years of expertise in the maritime, logistics, education, and human resource development industries. With 15 years of senior managerial experience, he has demonstrated his leadership capabilities in both multinational and local organizations and institutes.

Over the past few years, Nishan has excelled as a lecturer and facilitator, delivering impactful soft-skills development programs. Additionally, he has contributed as a visiting lecturer and corporate trainer in management and business studies across various institutions.

Nishan’s passion for education is evident through his dedication to training and mentoring thousands of students across the island over the last decade. With an MBA from London Metropolitan University, United Kingdom, he continuously pursues excellence and professional growth.

His commitment to self-improvement is reflected in his memberships at prestigious organizations such as the Institute of Chartered Ship Brokers (MICS) and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (MILT) in the United Kingdom. Furthermore, his certification as a trainer in Human Resource Training and Development from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) underscores his expertise in this field.

With over 35 years of distinguished service in the Air Force and specialization in UAV operations, he possesses unparalleled expertise in automation and drone technology.

As a seasoned expert, Dilshan has commanded pioneering UAV Squadrons and accumulated over 2000 UAV flying hours. His deep understanding of cutting-edge technology, combined with his innovative approach to teaching, enables him to impart practical insights and hands-on experiences to students.

Through mentorship and leadership, Dilshan fosters an environment where students can explore and excel in the rapidly evolving digital landscape. His certifications as a UAV pilot and instructor, along with international intelligence and security training, demonstrate his commitment to continuous learning and staying at the forefront of advancements in the field.

With dedication and passion, Dilshan inspires young minds to embrace the digital era, equipping them with vital skills in automation and drone technology. Nilusha Perera is a highly accomplished finance and business professional with over 15 years of experience working in multinational organizations. As the Director and Head of the Business School at ARK, her expertise and leadership play a vital role in shaping the institution’s academic excellence.

With her impressive qualifications, including ACMA (Associate Chartered Management Accountant), CGMA (Chartered Global Management Accountant), B.B Mgt (Accounting), and an MBA from the renowned Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), Nilusha brings a strong foundation in financial management and business administration.

Throughout her career, Nilusha has consistently demonstrated her ability to navigate the complexities of the global business landscape, contributing to the growth and success of the organizations she has served. Her rich experience and passion for education enable her to guide and inspire students, nurturing the next generation of business leaders.

Ayodhya Fonseka
Head of Language School
M.Ed (CA), BA (UOC), TKT

Ayodhya Fonseka is a dedicated and experienced educator with a passion for language and literature. Holding an M.Ed in Leadership in Learning from the University of Education, as well as a BA in English as a Second Language from the University of Colombo, Ayodhya has honed her expertise in language education.

With additional certifications, including TKT (Cambridge English) and French A2 from Alliance Francaise de Kotte, Ayodhya has demonstrated her commitment to continuous professional development.

As a Lecturer in English and literature, Ayodhya follows an educational philosophy centered around fostering language acquisition through direct exposure to the target language, interactive activities, and task-based learning. By creating an engaging and dynamic learning environment, she empowers her students to actively participate in their language learning journey.

 

Ayodhya’s approach to education emphasizes the importance of practical application and hands-on experiences, enabling her students to build confidence and proficiency in the English language. Her dedication to helping students acquire language skills extends beyond the classroom, making her a valuable asset to any learning institution.

Ganesha Thondilege
Head of STEM Education
BSc Hon (USJP), MSc in Industrial Mathematics (USJP), PhD - Reading (USJP)

Our Head of STEM Education at ARK is a remarkable and dynamic personality, known for her exceptional abilities in Mathematics and innovative teaching methods. With her genius in Mathematics, she employs unconventional approaches to make basic mathematical and engineering concepts accessible and engaging for our students.

Her creative mindset is the driving force behind the success of our students, as she constantly strives to make learning exciting and effective. Her qualifications are truly impressive, including a BSc Hons from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJP) and an MSc in Industrial Mathematics from the same institution. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD at USJP, further deepening her expertise in the field.

Not limiting herself to a single academic pursuit, she is also working on an MSc at the University of North Dakota (UND), USA, reflecting her commitment to global learning and collaboration. As a lecturer, she imparts her knowledge in Computational Mathematics and Advanced Mathematics to students pursuing BSc in AI and Data Science at Robert Golden University in the UK.

With such extensive knowledge and passion for teaching, our Head of STEM Education plays a pivotal role in shaping the minds of our students. Her innovative teaching methods and dedication to fostering a love for STEM subjects make her an invaluable asset to ARK and a source of inspiration for our students.

Buddhi Ravihara
Head of Digital Education

Buddhi Ravihara  is a multifaceted lecturer with a wealth of expertise in adapting presentations to effectively engage students from diverse backgrounds. With a strong foundation in Information Technology and Systems, Buddhi leverages his in-depth knowledge and practical experiences to provide relevant and valuable insights to his students.

In addition to his academic role, Buddhi has also excelled as an IT Executive with extensive experience in program management and product development. His ability to support IT operations and implement effective strategies has made him a valuable asset in the industry.

Buddhi’s impressive qualifications, including an MSc in IT and Strategic Innovation from Kingston University, London, United Kingdom, and a Graduate Diploma in Computing Level 07 (IT and Software Development) from the National Technology Institute, Auckland, New Zealand, showcase his dedication to continuous learning and professional growth.

With a keen eye for metrics reporting, Buddhi is skilled in integrating divergent data sources and monitoring performance strategies. His versatile skill set and dedication to education make him a highly respected and influential figure in both academia and the IT industry.
